Here is a quick blurb from the blog: 

So I've been on the road. A lot.

In fact in the past 6 weeks I've been in 21 different states, some of them twice. If that seems like on obscene amount of travel to you, then you're pretty sharp. 

When you are living the life of a traveling minstrel you start to notice recurring themes in the people you meet. 

A few things I've been noticing in the past few weeks:

1. People are tired 

They're exhausted from working at dead end jobs; they've had it with the state of unrest our nation is in. Their hearts are broken from relationships that aren't what they were supposed to be and they don't feel like they can go another day. People are tired. 

2. People are dying

As I wrote that sentence my heart was immediately drawn to the countless stories I hear about people losing loved ones. If you have lost someone dear to you, know that my heart hurts for you, and that I am praying for you right now. 

I myself have witnessed death first hand too many times to count in the past couple years. Cancer, car accidents, suicides, murder, overdoses, miscarriages, still births - all of these tragedies have come into the path of me and the people I love. 

Death, and the excruciating brevity of life are all around us.

3. People are afraid

They are concerned about where the next mortgage payment is coming from. They are anxious about whether or not they will have a job tomorrow. People are afraid of nuclear holocaust, bird flu, swine flu, and whatever other flu it is we are supposed to be afraid of this year.

Fear is attacking people all over the world and winning most of the battles. 

Before you think that this is the most depressing blog post you have ever read let me say a couple things.
